Today, we are a recognized leader in pre-construction, general construction, construction management, passenger boarding bridge installations, aviation concession construction, design build, and alternative delivery services.

Recognizing the value of launching a project quickly to meet schedule demands, we respond immediately to project startup. We can fast-track projects while maintaining guaranteed costs and schedules. We’re also uniquely qualified to quickly determine if a project can benefit from utilizing a self-perform approach. Our ability to perform specific construction activities enables VRH to set the pace for construction, maintain cost compliance, and increase flexibility to respond to project and scope challenges.

Preconstruction

For over six decades, VRH has been accruing valuable aviation construction cost data which we bring to each project along with our unmatched industry experience.

At the heart of our preconstruction process lies VBuild, our proprietary estimating system that provides all the tools necessary for budget development and estimating during the preconstruction phase of a project. With actual costs captured from VBuild’s purchasing and contract administration modules, historical cost data and models for over 50 different types of aviation projects can be utilized to create target line item and overall project budgets from nothing more than a conceptual sketch. Our Preconstruction team further refines these budgets based on escalation and airport location factors as well as the security requirements, schedule, and phasing aspects of the project. From budgeting to constructability reviews, value engineering and scheduling, VRH guides decision-making from design to commencement of construction.

VRHDesign+Construction Technology (VD+CT) is a proprietary system & collaboration tool that combines project management, budgeting and schedule compliance and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) to ensure we are Always Going Above and Beyond to Exceed Expectations. Among the VD+CT technologies we deploy are VBuild, our core project management ecosystem that enables client reporting and project management; and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), which includes our Scanning Services (SS), 3D & 4D Coordination of Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Virtual Reality (VR).

VRHDesignBuild provides a design-build delivery method developed in alignment with the best practices of the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) and the PANYNJ TCAP process.

VRH currently has two DBIA certified staff who are also design professionals, functioning as our Design Managers.

Working with the PANYNJ

VRH has worked at airports operated by the Port Authority of NY & NJ for more than six decades, completing more than 3,900 aviation projects.

In the NY/NJ/PA metro area, our expertise in the unique requirements of the airport terminals is unmatched – whether we’re servicing an airline or the PANYNJ directly. Our construction professionals have accrued an unparalleled knowledge of the airports’ infrastructure and facilities.

With six decades of experience and 11,500 completed inspections, we are thoroughly familiar with the PANYNJ’s unique permitting process regulations and expectations for delivering projects on time and budget.

The VRHVigilant Safety and Security Program uniquely merges safety and security into a single program containing operating protocols that specifically address the aviation construction environment.

The program includes the VRH orientation video, employs a company-wide 30-hour OSHA certification training program, creates standard safety forms using VBuild, logs every field employee, creates custom VRH security badges, and tracks VRH trucks using GPS for 24/7 visibility.

VRH delivered the first LEED Gold terminal expansion for Signature Flight Support at EWR and completed the American Airlines Admirals Club Lounge at LGA, certified as LEED Silver, the ConRAC Solutions ConRAC Facility at EWR designed and built for LEED Silver, and the United Airlines Terminal A Club at EWR, which is certified LEED Silver. VRH recently completed the Realterm Cargo Facility at JFK which received LEED Gold certification.

To further our commitment to sustainability, we recently completed our own office renovation program and our building is LEED certified.
